HDR Trials - AKVIS Enhancer Stand Alone Version : All photos shown here are either the result of using AKVIS Enhancer or the bracketed exposure shots that went into the final HDR photo. In most cases harsh mid day light made the bracketed photos less than pleasing. In general, with a few exceptions like my burgandy tomato, the result was something closer to morning or evening light more evenly spread over the whole scene. Little was changed in Enhancer other than the saturation was considerably reduced from its initial setting. All photos were shot hand held - no tripod - and Enhancer did a fantastic job of aligning the images.

Sony 70-300G w/ Kenko Pro 1.4X TC : The Kenko Pro 1.4X does not show correct EXIF. All three shots were taken with the 70-300G fully extended. Although the EXIF shows 300mm, its actually 420mm. Also, each f-stop should be increased by 1. All were taken at only about 5 or 6 feet, at night, indoors - not the best for testing under a real life situation.

Sony 70-400G & 1.4X Kenko Pro : These are just a few quick shots testing the Sony 70-400G with a 1.4X Kenko Pro 300 TC. It was a windy day so anything less substantial than a tree trunk may have moved as the photo was taken. All shots are straight out of the camera - no post processing at all. These are the best of roughly 3 times as many photos taken. The next to the last shot was added to give some sense of how far away the last shot was. Next to last used 70mm boosted to 98mm with the Kenko TC. The last shot (and all others) were taken at 400mm boosted to 560mm with the TC. The Kenko TC does not transmit EXIF so the Exif (focal length/aperture) SmugMug shows is as if there was no TC in reality its 1.4X the focal length shown and aperture is reduced one stop. This lens/TC combination would be OK for some, but so far, it has a long way to go to beat a Min 400/4.5 with a Minolta TC. All shots were taken with a Sony A700.
